2025 October newsletter

October has been a rainy month here in Denmark, but despite the grey skies, the mood at NitroVolt has been bright! A lot has been happening across the lab, the workshop, and beyond.

We just received our new electrolyzer from Enapter, marking a major milestone, as we can now start producing ammonia from water instead of relying on hydrogen bottles! The Enapter system becomes part of our standalone 5 kg/day ammonia container system, which we’re currently building, testing next year, and planning to install on a Danish farm over the summer. Meanwhile, our team has been busy optimizing the Balance of Stack (BoS) for our Nitrolyzer. Below, you can see Jared and Julius testing the multi-stack BoS setup as we continue to scale up the system and prepare for integrated operation.

It’s also been a busy travel month! Suzanne was invited to Bangkok by the International Fertilizer Association (IFA) as part of their Cultivate Challenge, where she presented NitroVolt’s vision to industrial leaders across Asia and the Pacific. With Asia accounting for nearly 60% of global food production (and therefore much of the world’s fertilizer use), the region represents a major opportunity for NitroVolt’s decentralized ammonia technology.

Later in the month, Suzanne headed to Berlin for the RESPOND Demo Night, hosted by the BMW Foundation. She pitched NitroVolt in front of more than 500 investors, policymakers, and industry leaders. Both she and Mattia have been part of the RESPOND Accelerator this year, a program that’s been invaluable in developing leadership skills and supporting NitroVolt’s growth.

Safety is one of our core company values, and as we prepare for our demo unit (which will handle high voltage and high current), our team completed an Electrical Safety and Emergency Training course this month. We learned how to prevent electrical hazards and how to respond effectively in an emergency. In the photos, you’ll spot the team practicing first aid with a defibrillator and also investigating the proper tools to use for dealing with high current and voltages. These are essential skills for a company working with powerful systems and reactive chemicals, and we’re proud that the whole team is now equipped and ready to respond safely!

We look forward to sharing more exciting updates next month, so stay tuned!

Best regards and Happy Halloween!
