We just keep pushing the boundaries! This month, we’ve produced a massive 900 cm² cell: the largest our machine shop can handle. It's fully balanced and successfully separates the liquid and gas phases, and we’re excited to test it in the coming weeks to make ammonia. Next up: finding a way to manufacture 30 x 30 cm² electrodes with catalyst on them to build what could become the world’s largest electrochemical nitrogen reduction flow-cell. Stay tuned!

In the beginning of June, Suzanne (our NitroCEO) went to the NH3 event in Rotterdam for the 4th year. While the scale and momentum of the global ammonia community remain impressive, the key takeaways were more sobering than inspiring. The green transition is progressing too slowly, with many large-scale projects stalled due to weak market demand. Blue ammonia is moving forward in North America and the Middle East, and green ammonia is gaining traction in China, but Europe is stepping back and canceling green projects, closing grey ammonia capacity, and instead investing in import infrastructure. This trend risks increasing dependency rather than building resilience in the EU. It’s a powerful reminder of why NitroVolt’s mission of decentralized, containerized ammonia production is so vital for both climate goals and regional supply sovereignty.

On a very festive note, June 28th marked NitroVolt’s 2-year anniversary! We celebrated in true NitroStyle, with a sunny BBQ, friends and family of the NitroTeam, and a traditional Danish “cakeman” with licorice hair, that bore an uncanny resemblance to our NitroCTO, Mattia. It’s incredible to think that just a year ago, we were a team of three. Today, we’re 14 strong, setting records and scaling fast. Here’s to the journey so far, and all the big things ahead. Let’s make green ammonia affordable and available to all!
