2025 July newsletter

We hope you’ve all had a fantastic summer break and soaked up some well-earned sunshine! July brought a slightly slower pace at NitroVolt, with about half the team off on summer holidays, but that didn’t stop the NitroScience team from charging ahead in the lab.

In fact, it’s been an exciting month for R&D. Our full Science team has been hands-on, running all six experiments in parallel on our Hydra setup, a real milestone for the NitroLab! They’ve been busy exploring new electrolyte formulations, testing cutting-edge high-surface-area electrodes, and building robust monitoring strategies to support long-term testing. It’s incredible to see so much innovation happening at once, and we’re eager to see which of these breakthroughs will make it into the next generation of our stack.

In mid-July, our CEO, Suzanne was invited through the RESPOND accelerator program to attend the BMW Foundation’s Energy Challenge Days 2025 in a secluded resort in Frankfurt. This was a truly insightful experience with four days of immersive dialogue with leaders across clean tech, policy, finance, and innovation as part of a curated gathering tackling some of today’s most pressing energy challenges. NitroVolt is grateful to have been included among the selected innovators, and the opportunity to pitch our vision in such a dynamic forum reinforced our commitment to real-world impact.

Yet the discussions made clear that Europe needs far more than innovation talks: the EU must urgently translate ambition into action by aligning national strategies, accelerating permitting, investing deeply in renewable infrastructure, and securing robust funding mechanisms to ensure the energy transition delivers resilience, not just dependency. Something core to our ambitions with NitroVolt’s decentralized green solutions.

We are also thrilled to welcome Julius to the NitroTeam as our new System NitroEngineer. He will support the development of our 5 kg/day demo unit under the GUDP grant and is already coordinating closely with project partners to model and procure key subsystems. Below we see him busy at work in the lab together with Jared, testing out cells and stacks in parallel for balance of stack purposes.

NitroVolt is currently hiring to expand our impact:

          - Head of NitroBusiness: Leading our commercial strategy, securing partnerships, and shaping our go-to-market vision

          - Lab NitroManager: Ensuring smooth operation of our NitroLab, supporting experiments, and helping scale our prototype systems

          - Funding NitroSpecialist: Securing and managing public and private funding to support NitroVolt’s innovation journey

If you know passionate and talented individuals with a drive for climate tech, please direct them to our careers page at www.nitrovolt.com/careers and encourage them to reach out. We’d love to hear from them!

Best regards,

The NitroTeam
