We hope you’ve all enjoyed the tail end of summer and soaked up some well-deserved sunshine! August at NitroVolt may have carried a slight holiday vibe as several team members were away, but our momentum didn’t slow!

This month has been packed with progress: we’ve been fine-tuning the 400 cm² stack design to improve gas and liquid flow dynamics. As stacking complexities increased, our Mechanical NitroEngineer, Alessandro, led the charge on developing a new gasket design for better alignment and leak-tightness. Paired with Jared, our NitroChemist, the lab team ramped up tests on the large stack and cell, pushing the boundaries with higher formation rates. Talk about summer heat in the lab!

Meanwhile, our stellar Business NitroAnalyst, Jascha, used a quiet moment to sharpen his coding chops and delivered something incredible. Diving into Denmark’s open wind turbine and agricultural data, he layered both datasets to reveal a rising trend: more Danish farmers are now installing renewable energy on-site. It’s a vivid sign of energy transition in action, where agriculture and clean energy converge to power a greener future. And can also converge towards our future NitroBoxes!

Our CEO, Suzanne, also brought NitroVolt’s ethos to TechBBQ 2025 in Copenhagen, participating in the panel titled, “From Lab to Scale: The 101 on First-of-a-Kind Technology.” It was both a privilege and an energizing experience to share our journey, from growing from 3 to 16 team members, to building our first green ammonia demo unit, especially with amazing peers like Sarah Fleischer (tozero) and Amit Luthra (PhaseTree) and moderated excellently by Daniel Niemi (Atlantic Labs).

TechBBQ this year, now hosted at Bella Center, lived up to its “Build to Matter” theme, highlighting innovation that truly makes an impact across climate tech, urban tech, and beyond. As the Nordic startup festival continues to scale, it was a vital reminder that while VC buzz may drift toward AI and Defense, climate-tech remains the foundation of our future.
