2024 July newsletter

In July we have been busy moving into the new offices and laboratory at the Alfa Laval Innovation House in Søborg, greater Copenhagen. We’ve been spending the last 4 months setting up the new 100 m2 NitroLabs, which includes a 46 m2 chemistry lab with 3 different fumehoods, lots of storage, an ion chromatograph, MilliQ system, Karl Fischer, and a steampunk-looking glovebox outside the lab (see below).

The chemistry lab is placed inside 3 green shipping containers within the bigger production hall, allowing us to keep an enclosed space per safety regulations with proper ventilation. The only thing left to do now is the final installation of the hydrogen and nitrogen lines in August, and then we will be ready to make ammonia in the new NitroLabs!

We’ve also been busy setting up the new NitroOffices and prepping on-boarding for all the new NitroEmployees starting in fall. One of the first purchases for the new office was of course the all-important coffee machine, followed by desks, computers, screens, etc. Below is a picture of Alessandro and Suzanne assembling all the furniture (aka playing adult LEGO), making the office ready to welcome the 4 new team members starting in September.

Lastly, we’re also happy to share that we have signed the patent license agreement with the university, giving us exclusive access to our 3 patents developed while we were at the Technical University of Denmark. We’ve also started work on designing the world’s first electrochemical ammonia production stack and look forward to sharing news with you again in August.

Best regards and wishing you a great continued summer!
